Whether you’re ready for it or not, 2023 is here! And we’ve started thinking a lot about our goals and what we want to accomplish in the new year. What better way to do that than making a vision board!
Creating a vision board allows you to get real and clear about what you want. They serve as daily visual reminders of your goals. The idea is that you see your goals everyday, which motivates you to take actions towards those goals, which leads to them being accomplished. Pretty cool, huh? Here are some of our favorite reasons for why you should make a vision board!
It’s a reminder of your priorities.
The act of vision boarding makes you get clear about what you really want. Vision boards often have limited space, so odds are you’ll only add things that really matter to you. They help you get an idea of your priorities for the goals you want to achieve. So when you’re having an off day and you take a glance, you can remind yourself of the bigger picture you’re working towards.
They give you clear direction.
Once you’ve created your board and have your priorities in order, a vision board can help you narrow down the path you want to take to accomplish those goals. A vision board helps you make more informed decisions on how you’ll handle something in order to get to where you want to be. It easily allows you to clearly see the end goal without all of the other clutter along the way that can cloud your thoughts.
They hold you accountable.
Once it’s complete, put your vision board somewhere you can see it. On a wall in your office, as your laptop wallpaper, or even as your phone lock screen. This way you are constantly reminded of your goals for the year. The more you see it, the more you’ll stay on top of doing things to accomplish them. This also helps keep you on track in times where your motivation is lacking.
It’s fun.
Whether you choose to make a digital board or a physical one, making a vision board is a fun de-stressing activity. If you have any down time this holiday season, this is a good way to spend it. Grab some of your favorite magazines or start saving pictures you find on Pinterest. Make yourself a warm beverage. And have yourself a cozy vision boarding sesh. Or invite friends over and have a vision boarding party!
