As managers, we learn so much from our talent! Being on the backend of their campaigns and partnerships means we get a first hand look at all of the behind the scenes. We see what works for growth, what can be worked on and what is losing momentum, and then we can take that information and adjust from there. While we could probably write a list of tips as long as our to-do list, we’re keeping it simple here and sharing all of the top social tips and tricks we’ve learned from our Parker talent fam and some others we may have picked up along the way!
Get out of your comfort zone.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise, but growth doesn’t happen inside of your comfort zone. You need to be willing to push yourself in order to grow! We’re not saying you need to join in on the latest dance trend. If that’s not you, then that’s not you. But don’t be afraid to share content with your followers that maybe step a little bit outside of your normal box. Push yourself to go meet new people and go to events. Trust us, your followers who truly love you for you will be more than willing to come along for the ride!
Consistency is king!
Set a schedule and stick to it! Gone are the IG days of having to post on your feed everyday. Instead tell yourself you’ll post 3 times a week. You can even go as far as picking certain days you’ll post. You just want your followers to know what to expect so that some weeks they aren’t inundated with content and others it’s like you fell off the face of the Earth! Maybe you post in feed 2x a week and on your blog 1x a week, but you’re active on stories everyday. Or maybe 5 days a week and they know you are offline Saturday and Sunday. If that’s what works for you, then do that! It’s important to let your followers know what to expect from you and staying consistent helps with that.
Be involved with your audience.
Get to know them better! Instagram polls and questions are a great way to do this! A lot of our talent views their followers as a sort of massive extended friend group, and you wouldn’t blindly guess things about your friends. Get to know your audience, ask them questions, reply to their comments, etc. Cultivate relationships – it means so much!
We have said it before, we will say it again: be authentic!
Stick to your values, your morals, be YOU because it shows. I think by now we all can tell if someone is being their true selves online. Your audience probably doesn’t want to see another influencer with a seemingly perfect life, they want to get to know the real you and see your ups and downs so they know they are not alone. They also don’t want to see you be exactly like someone else for the sake of growth. Our talent is on our roster because they truly are one of a kind and unique and themselves.
TikTok – use it!
We can hear the groans and the eyerolls coming from some of you who have been avoiding TikTok, but we’re officially at a point where it can’t be avoided. It’s not going anywhere and it’s a multi – use platform that is only going to continue to grow. The great news is that there are so many ways to use TikTok that you’re sure to find your niche there. You can use it for comedy, to teach your audience something, to just have fun, the options are endless!
Think about paid ads.
Paid ads can be great because unlike your feed photos, they’ll get shown to people outside of your audience. This will allow more people, who might’ve never found you, to discover your platform! There are so many options for learning strategy behind these or hire a professional to get you started!
Check what’s working…
And let go of what isn’t. Social media is a lot of work, and if you have an end goal in mind that you’re working towards, you don’t want to waste your time doing things that aren’t working. It’s important to take the time to analyze your content and really see and gain an understanding of what is resonating with your audience and what is helping you grow your platform!
